Finding a Job Via Twitter?
Comrise @ TwitterMost people wouldn't consider social networking to open a door to the job search world but there are many people arguing that fact.  For example, Tara Weiss at Forbes.com wrote about one particular person who used Twitter as his job search tool (the article from April 2009 can be found here).  The man boasts that he probably wouldn't have found his new position if it hadn't been for Twitter.

Job seekers and employers alike are all trying to use any media outlet possible that will help find great talent for open jobs.  The key to success, with any social networking site, is to build a profile and a presence that is professional and relative to a position you'd like to obtain.  Comrise isn't far behind... we're already on Twitter and Facebook trying to broadcast some of our best positions possible.

It seems these days that everyone is on Twitter and sites that are like it... so why not job search there too?
The Power of Social Networking
In an industry where success is relationship-driven, the power of social networking is endless. Tools like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and XING have really elevated the performance of Comrise during these difficult economic times. In our industry, thousands of professionals each day are wondering, "How did I ever get this far without having such tools, that link me to passive candidates and hiring managers?" Recruiters are able to recruit passive candidates on a much easier scale, on the other hand, Account Executives can reach out to new contacts through previous and current relationships. Twitter has become a great tool to post jobs for our followers, and likewise, Facebook links us to candidates for Entry-Level Positions.

Thus, the power of social networking is endless, as you know who you will meet next, and in an economy where the opportunities are limited, it is important to build for when the opportunities become unlimited.

Starting off on the right foot with filling a job opening
Hi, my name is Jinell Howard-Perrone.  I am a Senior Account Executive at Comrise in New Jersey.  I'd like to take some time to blog about how executives like myself take the first initiative with clients to really understand what their job needs are in order to produce winning results/placements.

The key to having a solid chance of filling a brand new job opening with one of our clients is to make certain your recruiters have the right “tools” (job specifications and client information) to help them find the best suited candidates for the position.  If an AE were to stray from announcing the exact job specifications provided by the hiring manager, assuming all needed information provided is correctly written, it may cause a no win situation for us.  I aim to find the best personnel for our clients in the initial submittals. Often, managers may forget to put in or explain important requirements or specifics to their job, but I do my best to double check everything and asking questions to avoid breaking communication.  Upon sending the specs I have received from my client, I ask my designated recruiter to read through them.  The recruiter will check to see if they have any additional questions or concerns for that hiring manager that I may not have thought of.  Then I quickly go back right away to the manager and clarify for myself and the recruiting team.

I try to avoid losing valuable time throughout the initial stage of retaining requirements so that we may zone in on the best fit candidates for the client.  Therefore, one of best tips that I can comment about is the ability to quickly and correctly identify client job requirements.  This will reduce wasting the valuable time of clients and make the screening and interview process productive, fast and successful.
Homepage Changes Are Around the Corner!
Ever since our new website launch in October 2008, we've been consistently improving on all aspects of Comrise.com.  Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for Job Seekers and Employers alike to find the jobs and information they desire.

We're currently working on revamping our homepage that will lead to further website changes.  Our homepage will feature easy ways for visitors to find what they're looking for and provide a larger focus on social networking and design.

If you have anything you'd like to see on the Comrise.com homepage, our minds are always open and we love ideas and criticism!  We're doing the best we can to make an easy interactive site that will benefit you: the user.
Relationship-Driven
If you run a search for Staffing and Recruiting on Google, you will find hundreds and thousands of vendors who are all looking for an opportunity to work with Fortune Clients, providing staffing resources. Unlike a majority of the vendors, Comrise focuses on building relationships with its clients, in order to ensure a strong partnership for years to come; rather than just looking for a hiring requirement.

Comrise understands in difficult and un-opportunistic times like these, that continually building and maintaing relationships is what will propel our organization, as the economic rollercoaster comes to an end.

Thus, with Fall around the corner, Comrise will continue to use 2009 as time to build for the future, and when the time is right: "opportunity will come knocking right on our front door."

Have a great week!

Overcoming Adversity
Overcoming AdversityUnlike many competitors and small businesses, Comrise is using this economic downturn as an opportunity to build for the future. Rather than sitting back and waiting for business to come to Comrise, our Account Executives and Recruiters are networking more than ever, with the goal of building strategic relationships with contacts across a wide range of industries.

It does not make sense to let this opportunity to waste, when we can use this time to build a window of opportunity that will allow us to peak our success, when things do pick up. If there is one I know about adversity, it is that it builds character.

Thus, our team knows that their efforts may not pay off now, during this very moment, but when things do pick, they know the opportunity for success is coming towards them, and Comrise.
