Great Article - For American Workers in China, a Culture Clash
As the trend continues to rise for Americans working abroad in China, a colleague passed along a great article discussing the benefits and issues that exist with Americans working abroad in China.
In regard to the issues that exist, Ting Wang, 25, an associate at WildChina, a travel company
based in Beijing. That imbalance does not go unnoticed by Chinese workers. “There is
definitely the perception that Americans get paid more for the same
work."
While styles of business may be different, it is a great experience for the short and long run to work an environment filled with diverse cultures.

Holidays - "A Time For Giving"
|
Hope everyone is excited with the holidays approaching. As part of the tradition of the holidays, Comrise and its team donated to the Ronald McDonald House earlier this month, as part of a charity event, which took place at Monmouth University, in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The event was hosted by the Entrepreneurship Class of Professor John Buzza, and fortunately, the event was a success for the students, and to the children and families of the Ronald McDonald house.
Have a great holiday season!
Thanks for reading!

Outlook for 2010
According to Plunketresearch.com, "The
good news is that a select set of employers and growth companies will
offer good job opportunities during 2010. In this period of challenges,
a few companies will enjoy booming business. Sectors such as hi-tech
batteries, education and health care are growing. Many companies with
exciting new technologies or cost-saving services will see terrific
growth."
Job-seekers, arm yourself with knowledge. It is important to understand where opportunities lie and where opportunities do not lie, so you make sure you make the right decision for the short and long run.
While technology may seem to have a negative impact on the job-market in the short-run, but remember, productivity
is boosted by new technologies, improved management methods and other
factors. It can also receive a quick boost from restrained corporate
hiring. If rising productivity occurs along with rapidly rising sales
and profits, then the job market will improve.(http://www.plunkettresearch.com/Industries/MajorEmployers/MajorEmployerstrends/tabid/100/Default.aspx)

From an Old Intern
As Comrise is now looking for some great college students near our NJ office for our Marketing/Technology Internship, I thought I'd post a little bit about the importance of interning while in college.
I started interning at multiple companies while I was an IT major in College. I interned at two other companies besides Comrise but ultimately was given the chance to work full time with Comrise after graduation. Participating in internships not only gave me an edge over my classmates upon graduation, but also made my final courses at college that much more appealing and useful.
I felt like a lot of my intern experience prompted me to have more in-depth discussions with professors and classmates. I remember always having examples for other students who had yet to get into the "business world". You can only learn so much from books and professor stories, so having college internships was the best thing I could have done for myself while in school.
That being said, the opportunity Comrise has available right now is a great one. We're looking for talented students in the Middlesex/Monmouth NJ area that are pursuing a Bachelor's degree and have an interest in Marketing, Sales, and Technology. For more information, please see the job page. Thanks for reading, as always!
