Board of Directors
Mr. Liou is the Chairman and Founder of Comrise, Inc. and a Board Member of iCIMS. Starting in 1973, Mr. Liou became an influential personality in the telecom arena. Prior to founding Comrise, he had worked with AT&T Bell Lab, Siemens, NCR and NASA on a number of ground breaking projects related to switching, data communication, OSS, networking protocols, real-time software development, and laser ranging systems.
Mr. Liou received his MS in Computer Science from Florida Tech in 1973, in addition to a BS in 1970 from Tamkang University in Taiwan. Mr. Liou is a passionate believer in customer service. This can be attested to by his many satisfied clients over the years including AT&T, IBM, Telecordia, CSC, IRS, FAA, and many others in the telecom, pharmaceutical, healthcare, financial, and government sectors.
Sincia Liu currently serves as Comrise’s President, Global and Cross Border Services and is a member of Comrise’s Board of Directors.
Ms. Liu joined Comrise in 1994 bringing her experience and knowledge in multiple fields: engineering, software development, sales, marketing, and recruiting. Ms. Liu was promoted to General Manager in 1996 with primary responsibilities in the management of corporate operations. In 2010 Sincia was promoted to President of Comrise, Inc.
In her role as President, Global and Cross Border Services, Ms. Liu was responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the company in New Jersey and its subsidiaries in Hong Kong and Mainland China; including long-term planning, global client services, new business development, resource planning, and technology advancement.
In addition, Ms. Liu is a member of the Board of the Directors for iCIMS, a leading provider of talent acquisition software solutions.
Ms. Liu holds a BA degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
Scott Greenburg is a lawyer and advisor to growth companies of any size, with deep experience in venture capital, structuring and investments, M&A, IPO and follow on offerings, corporate governance and technology transactions. He is focused on consumer-facing branded companies in natural products, technology, telecom, SaaS, specialty retail and internet commerce. Mr. Day brings over thirty years of experience in sales, marketing, strategy, and general management in the telecommunications, chemical, textiles and electronics industry in the US, European and Japanese markets (IVA LTD, COMSAT, DuPont and Courtaulds). He was CEO of International Ventures Associates(IVA LTD.), a private business strategy firm in Washington, DC that advised large, medium and small telecommunications and IT companies in major markets worldwide.
Mr. Day was a founding member, and chairman, of InfoConversions, a Maryland based software services business that converted legacy documents to XML. Mr. Day has been a member of two NASA advisory boards; is chairman of JUSTSAP, the Japan-U.S. Science, Technology and Space Applications organization; a member of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute Corporation Board, a board member of Comrise China, and is an adjunct professor at the Kogod business school at American University.
John W. Franklin
Prior to starting JWF Advisors in 2002, John W. Franklin, Jr. counseled companies on management requirements and recruited senior executives for more than 30 years. Following service as Executive Vice President and Director in an executive search firm in Washington, DC that focused on corporate recruiting, Mr. Franklin opened the Russell Reynolds Associates office in the nation’s capital in 1979. He headed and built the office for almost 20 years. He has established scores of client relationships nationwide, recruiting senior executives in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Mr. Franklin served on the firm’s Executive Committee. He provided recruiting services to a presidential transition team.
Mr. Franklin is a graduate of Amherst College and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He served in the United States Peace Corps as part of the second group assigned to Nepal and in the Agency for International Development of the U.S. Department of State.
His former colleague, Russell S. Reynolds, Jr., founder of Russell Reynolds Associates says “John has the requisite skills, intelligence, temperament and knowledge for this activity. He is a very effective counselor of senior executives regarding their career strategies. I recommend him highly.”
Mr. Franklin has been selected to provide career-planning advice to students at the School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins University. He is a member of the board of Mothers to Mothers (M2M), headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, where he serves as head of the Compensation Committee. He also serves on the board of Comrise China, a staffing company operating in six Chinese cities. He served as President of the Board of Directors of the William Wendt Center for Loss and Healing.
Mr. Sparks currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Laredo Oil, Inc. and has been a director of the Company since March 1, 2011. Before joining Laredo Oil in October 2009, he was the Chief Executive Officer, President and a Director of Visualant, Inc. Prior to joining Visualant, he was the Chief Financial Officer of WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. from 2005-2006. Before joining WatchGuard, he was the founder and managing director of Sunburst Growth Ventures, LLC, a private investment firm specializing in emerging-growth companies. Previously, he founded Pointer Communications and served as Chief Financial Officer for several telecommunications and internet companies, including eSpire Communications, Inc., Digex, Inc., Omnipoint Corporation, and WAM!NET.
He also served as Vice President and Treasurer of MCI Communications from 1988-1993 and as Vice President and Controller from 1993-1995. Before his tenure at MCI, Mr. Sparks held various financial management positions at Ryder System, Inc. Mr. Sparks currently serves on the Board of Directors of iCIMS, Visualant, and Comrise China. Mr. Sparks graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1969 and is a former Army Captain in the Signal Corps. He has an MS in Management from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and is a licensed CPA in Florida
