Google Cloud PlatformUpwork Global Inc., a website for freelancers has confirmed the fastest growing tech skills in Q2. “As technological change and the knowledge economy continue advancing, so will work requiring more skills,” said CEO, Stephane Kasriel. Companies are looking for individuals who are masters at these trades in order to help them keep a competitive edge against other employers. Here are the top 5 fastest growing skills for the second quarter of 2018.

  1. Blockchain: Continuously shows great potential for businesses looking to adopt and expand to the new trend. Upwork saw a 6,000% job growth in the first quarter of 2018. These individuals should be familiar with programming, scalability, efficiency, and distributed computing. Having blockchain or developing experience will place you on the top of the list when employers are searching for specialists.
     
  2. Google Cloud Platform: Businesses are realizing that cloud services offer greater potential than just storing data. The need for individuals to manage cloud assignments has elevated. IT professionals need to know when and how to use cloud tools in order to perform a variety of tasks ranging from data analytics to scalability.
     
  3. Volusion: Volusion is one of the larger e-commerce online store builders that allow you to start selling your products without being too techie. Comrise had the honor of speaking at 2018 China Human Resource Services Expo as a member of China’s Global Talent Acquisition Services Alliance in Zhejiang on October 25th.

The expo was held as an international exclusive event made up of executives in global talent acquisition institutions and enterprises. Locally known enterprises such as Alibaba Group and Geely Holding Group spoke about the difficulties and problems they encountered within talent acquisition, global workforce management, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic development planning. Top international consulting institutions such as Comrise, Career International, Korn Ferry, and Price Waterhouse Coopers were invited to do one on one communications to discover ways to alleviate these problems.

Comrise is Moving to Woodbridge, NJ!

We are excited to announce that Comrise will be moving its U.S. headquarters next month from Hazlet, New Jersey to the nearby town of Woodbridge.

While the decision to move took much consideration, having a more centrally-located headquarters, not only for our employees but also for our consultants and clients, was a strong motivating factor. Our new location put us within 15 minutes from Newark Liberty airport, and about half-an-hour by train from Penn Station in midtown Manhattan.

In recent years, our success in the IT and Engineering industries, as well as in our Cross-Border Services division, has supported the unprecedented growth of Comrise's services. Our new facility is being customized from the ground-up to accommodate our future hiring demands and further expanding our capabilities in supporting IT and Engineering professionals. The look and feel for our new office will create a modernized, technological atmosphere that amplifies who we are as an organization and the highly sought-after talent we represent.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate has decreased from 4% in June to 3.9% in July.

Jobs openings have remained at 6.6 million in May and June, displaying a steady job market.

 

Hire Rate [3.8%] & Quit Rate [2.3%]
The hire rate in June (3.8%) has decreased from 3.9% from May and the quit rate has decreased from 2.4% in May to (2.3%) in June.
